A Study on Client Violence Measures of Social Welfare`s Practical Site in Mental Health

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to collect and suggest materials needed to a convergence of opinion about some violence measures, the cause and measure of client violence, and to a preparation of a national level in operation in their institution. The subject of this study is social workers in mental health. For social workers in mental health in mental health interesting in a client violence or experiencing directly or indirectly client violence in the field, this study was to investigate the recognition on client violence measures and clients’ violence cause and preparation. The purposes in the concrete of this study are as follows: Firstly, this study is to grasp the importance of client violence measures in operation in the institution now and to offer foundation materials to clients violence measures hereafter. Secondly, this study is to grasp the cause of violence occurrence, to solve the basic problem, and to prepare a foundation for client violence measures as a front step before establishing a client violence measures. Thirdly, this study is to embody establishment for client violence measures, to be a safe business circumstance from client violence to all experts in mental health. This study was to organize social welfare professionals in mental health practise as panel and, and to practise the study by the Delph Method. The point of the Delphi Method is to seek a correct estimation through the course of a group estimation on the assumption that a group estimation is able to be higher than the possibility including the scope of a correct answer. First of all, this study analyzed the importance of the measure of client violence. The item of high average is to grasp through client condition through regular consultation and observation, and to show highly the joint of client violence information through affinity, violence measures, and case conference rapport with client. The recognition investigation on the occurrence cause of client violence is to show in case clients’ desire or service are not satisfied properly because of a degeneration in psychiatric symptoms and of lacking of manpower. In other words, the occurrence cause of the violence is to show the point that interpersonal services in mental health are not realized enough for clients in being unsafe condition because of their psychiatric symptoms. The recognition investigation on the occurrence cause of client violence is to show necessity of a (prevention strategy) highly. The highest item in average is the necessity for desire investigation to be satisfied client desire or service through the supplement of the special personnel like social workers in mental health. The highest item in the post measures of violence is preparing the institutional safety device for a professional in mental health(casualty insurance etc,fringe benefit or improvement[betterment] of labor conditions),and necessity of opening always the channel for communication with the group of medical treatment to be easy of access in case of the crisis of a violence through clients and rapport. The next higher item in average is to show making condition to social workers for trying to concentrate treatment services more than administrative tasks.it means social workers who work engage in a social work practice, lay a burden on not only proper tasks but also administrative tasks. In conclusion, this study was investigated that specialists of the spot social welfare in mental health recognizes the necessity of the dangerousness on clients’ violence and the violence measures, and they demand the necessity to make policy needed.
